TURBOSEED

One of the easiest ways to give a garden a makeover is by seeding a new lawn and one of the quickest ways to get a new lawn is by using Hydroseeding. Hydroseeding is becoming increasingly popular and it is how a majority of people now want their lawn seeded.

Innovative Landscapes uses TurboSeed hydroseeding, a quick, cost-effective and efficient way to apply grass seed.

A blend of water, grass seed, fertiliser and mulch is mixed in a tank with a mechanical agitator and applied through a high-pressure hose onto the soil. This creates the perfect environment for the grass seeds to germinate and deliver a beautiful lush lawn. The technique was developed in the United States and is rapidly gaining popularity in New Zealand.

Hydroseeding works so well because the seed is suspended in a nutrient-rich slurry. Once in the machine, the seed comes in contact with water triggering the germination cycle. The mulch layer contains co-polymers that protect the seed, seals in the moisture and holds the soil in place.

Once sprayed on, the product blend has a green colour to emulate the look of a lawn that will be replaced with the real grass as soon as it starts growing.

It is easy to understand why hydroseeding is becoming the method of choice for consumers and professionals alike. Hydroseeding can be applied throughout the year and any combination of grass seed can be used. The speed of which the lawn germinates is dependent on climate and soil temperature and can be anything from three days in the height of summer to an extended time in the cooler months.

When installing a new lawn, preparation is an important part of the process. Innovative Landscapes offers a full site preparation service including full site scrap, soil preparation, mow strips and irrigation.
